It’s time to fish out your stretchy pants so you can feast unfettered. Not just cakes and cookies, hotels in the city are pulling out all the stops to offer their patrons exciting menus.
Fairfield by Marriott has one specially crafted for Christmas Eve. Selections from the buffet include roasted turkey with cranberry sauce, roasted pumpkin with feta cheese and olive salad, pumpkin parmesan soup, prosciutto melon antipasti, pork with roasted apple and honey glazed ham.
Traditional pudding and cake brings up the sweet conclusion. The restaurant can host about 150 people. Head Chef Rupesh looks forward to the Christmas rush saying, “Christmas is one of the busiest time of the year. We usually get over-booked.” Rupesh recently won chef of the year award by Hotelier India.
Novotel, Varun Beach stars a live counter with a slow roasted turkey on offer. Other items are chicken galantine, smoked Norwegian salmon, eggplant and zucchini parmigiana, and roasted lamb with prunes. It also has over a dozen items for dessert including the classic Christmas cookies.
“The festival is now getting popular in the city. That’s why we try to add a personal touch by putting up a Christmas tree and a ginger bread house,” says Mrin Moy, executive chef.
On the Beach Road, The Park has a grilled-theme buffet with chicken and lamb as the highlights, along with special Christmas mojitos.
Sam’s Griddle spreads cheer this season with what they do best, seafood. They are serving fish with barbecue sauce and chilli loose prawn, adding a dash of Andhra to the festival. Along with this, they also have broccoli cheddar soup which will be served in a bread bowl. And, just for the fun of it and to offer foodies a choice, they are also serving a classic chicken biryani .
