Selfie Pulla . Remember these two words. For, in the next few months, this is the song that’ll be played in restaurants and pubs. And at culturals and college events.

The song, which features in Kaththi , has been sung by actor Vijay and composed by Anirudh. This number as well as other songs in the album featured in the audio launch of the film held on Thursday evening at the Leela Palace. The composer said, “It’s a proud moment for me. It happened because of the confidence that Murugadoss sir (director) and Vijay had in me.”

Filled with energetic dances and powerful speeches, the audio launch was quite different from the Kollywood regulars. It not only started on time, but was also wrapped up within a couple of hours.

At the function, it was revealed that Vijay plays a double role in the film. “He played Jagadeesh in an earlier film, Thuppakki , and now plays Jeevanandam and Kathiresan in Kaththi . Of the two characters, he has enjoyed playing Kathiresan the most. Once you watch the film, you’ll know why,” said Murugadoss.

Despite the traffic hassles due to strict security outside, the crowded launch event was peppered with celebrities. Not just from here, but also from Bollywood. Neil Nitin Mukesh, the villain in the film, said, “All actors would love to work with Murugadoss. I was hoping I’d be in Ghajini and then Thuppakki came. Kaththi has raised the expectations of filmgoers and we hope to fulfil them.”

Vijay too expressed this hope to excited fans who greeted him with a roaring welcome as he walked onto the stage. “We’ve made this film not to create friction, but for people to forget their differences and be happy,” he said. Samantha is his co-star in the film. “She looks really beautiful and I think our chemistry works well on screen,” he added.
