Come festival and it is time to pull out your shopping bag and check out the season’s special. On August 6 and 7, the Vimonisha Raksha Bandhan designer and lifestyle exhibition at the Hyatt Regency will feature over 60 designers from across the country.

Mumbai’s Shruti Bhandari will showcase ethnic wear, wedding trousseau, gowns and tunics for women and sherwanis, jodhpuris and kurtas for men. Malmal, linen and accessories made out of fabric dominate Lana Cherry’s line. Rita Bajaj’s label Threads uses georgettes, silk cottons, tie and dyes, chanderis, and crepes.

But the festive look would be incomplete without the right accessories. So there would be a trendy range from brands such as Sunflower and TeeAmo and Boondh. You can also pick up footwear to match the outfit. What’s more? There will be handbags too.

Special occasions also mean dressing up your home. Haute home décor products will be available at the exhibition.

The season being all about monochromic colours — black, white and grey with bright highlights, fashionistas can gear up to do the rounds of such exhibitions that make the latest in the market accessible.
