All eyes on the stage

The popular Hindi play, Mera Woh Matlab Nahin Tha, will be staged in the city on July 3.

The popular Hindi play Mera Woh Matlab Nahin Tha will be staged in the city on July 3 at the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Lady Andal School, Harrington Road, Chetpet. This play, directed by Rakesh Bedi, has an illustrious star cast such as Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta, who is returning to theatre after a decade. Since it premiered in Mumbai on March 8, it has run to houseful shows in Mumbai and has even been staged in Singapore.

Amora, the company that is presenting the play to the Chennai audience, is primarily a social business enterprise that works with NGOs to empower those who don’t find mainstream jobs, to be trained for production, in quality control of products and providing a market connect to help them run small-scale businesses.
