Channing Tatum has revealed his beefy stripper character in Magic Mike XXL isn't anything like him when he used to take his clothes off for a living. The 21 Jump Street actor says playing Magic Mike gives him a chance to make up for certain shortcomings he faced back in his days before acting when he briefly worked as a stripper.

“Back then, I wasn't the big beefcake guy like Mike,” explains Channing. “I was the young skinny kid with the dance moves. I wasn't like Mike at all. There were guys that were and maybe that's where the character comes from, but in no way was I like that.”
