Bikanerwala opens at Hyderguda and plays safe with loyalists of North-Indian cuisine

Amidst the hustle-bustle of colleges and malls, Bikanerwala’s new branch at Hyderguda, lives up to its brand image of offering a large variety of dishes from the North-Indian cuisine. In a wide space that accommodates close to 150 people, the outlet also experiments with its trademark, with impressive South-Indian and Chinese options too. The chaat variety is still their USP, where the likes of Raj kachori (the tastes of sweet curd, the mild spicy flavour gel well) and dahi bhalla (the essence remains the same minus the spice) win your attention, the most. The Chhola bhatura is another example of a dish served at its authentic best.

Among the platters, the most interesting happens to be the tandoori classic platter; it comprises the hariyaali panner tikka , where the palak topping’s a winner.

It also includes the fruit chaat, where the marinade binds together apple, pineapple pieces firmly while the vegetable corn seekh kabab is a good complement too. The Chinese platter is not a surprise though with noodles and fried-rice. This outlet also offers pastas, both alfredo and arrabiata, unlike their Banjara Hills branch. Then there is the wholesome north-Indian Thali too.

While coming to the traditional mithai, the moong dal halwa is the pick of the lot, the thin and eye-pleasing jilebis are ideally sized, the sweet is just right and so is the crispness. There’s also tiranga bhog , a tri-colour feast, cham cham and shakri , ideally creamy and the coloured essences adding their charm well. A banquet hall offers space for events.

There are plans to open another branch at Hi-tech city.
