Tryst restaurant recently opened its second outlet, this time at the Saket Salcon Ras Vilas Mall. Walk inside and you find a music band performing live. To your right, you can see a live telecast of the World Cup on a huge screen.
You walk past, take a seat on the opulent white sofa, and look around to have a sight of wainscoted walls, wax candled chandeliers covered with glass frames giving a chic look to the dimly lit Tryst Music Café.
Chef Anil Mohan welcomes us with his ‘Seven', a combination of cacik, hummus, green garlic mayo, peanut dip, etc. served along with pita and cucumber batons.
“We have experimented and have come out with different dishes. We then innovated with various dips. So, here we have mango mayo, green garlic mayo, peanut dip and many more. The idea is that people should not be kept waiting until the order is served. So, Seven as an appetiser is instantly served on demand, to help fill that gap in a delectable way.
”Then there are grilled Iranian sheesh kababs and Tryst chicken kababs served with mango chutney mayo. “We have salads and appetisers which go well around lunch time. Then, we have an exclusive menu of pasta, sandwich and burgers which work best during the post lunch session, and after that we have the choicest of dishes on our grills and mains menu along with the Indian menu for the evening,” says the chef.”
As for the restaurant's signature dish, Tryst Special — Jamaican Jerk Chicken served with tomato basil rice —is a winner. The chicken, rich in colour, is roasted golden brown and served smoking hot.Another tantalising dish is grilled fillet of sole with green beans, lemon and dil sauce. The restaurant is a great find for those who love chicken dishes, what with Borsin stuffed chicken breasts, Tryst roasted chicken and chicken tangri as well. But vegetarians needn't despair, since the stuffed mushrooms and Tryst vegetarian kababs are equally delightful.
All in all, with an in-house band and a great variety of food from European, Western, and Mediterranean cuisine, the music café is a welcome new hangout.
