How many times have you tasted a dish at a restaurant and felt the food was not fresh. Here comes a restaurant which claims to serve only fresh food (‘no leftover food’ screams the pamphlets placed on the tables), and cooking in mineral water! The newly-opened Hyderabad Blues restaurant on the busy Banjara Hills, Road No. 1 drives the blues away on a breezy afternoon as one makes an entry. The ambience, as the name suggests has a dash of blue in its lights and setting. The wooden tables and chairs are elegant and as you make yourself comfortable, the first thing you notice is the ample space provided to walk between the tables and reach the buffet counter.

The restaurant is the brainchild of MBA graduate Sravani. As a young mother now, she balances her work and baby with support from her parents. “I always wanted to start a venture on my own. What better than starting a restaurant,” she says while keeping a watch on her playful son. With her father’s support, she decided to venture into food business by starting a restaurant. “Among the many restaurants opening in the city, we wanted to stand out from the rest. Our speciality is serving fresh food, not recycling oil to prepare delicacies and cooking only in mineral water,” states Sravani.

There is an a la carte and buffet menu to choose from. With a fairly exhaustive menu, one can enjoy south Indian and north Indian fare and delicacies in Chinese, Tandoori and Continental. One can begin with a hot Thai coconut soup and the starters accompanying them. For south Indian food lovers, there is a platter of kunda biryani, natu kodi biryani and natu kodi pulusu. Mirapakai royyalu, peethala vepudu and mirapakayi mamsam vepudu are other delights for non-veggies. Vegetarians need not feel left out as they have a range of dishes to satiate their palate. There is a Blues veg and non-veg platter and Thai red curry, Thai green curry and Chinese devil chicken for fans of Chinese and Thai food. Tandoori specialities are also an attraction here. To end your meal in a sweet way, dig into a platter of desserts.

The banquet halls and the private dining rooms hope to attract the party crowd and with Ramzan season coming up, they are planning to undertake iftar parties too.
