The 165th aradhana of saint composer Tyagaraja was held at the saint's samadhi on the banks of the Cauvery at Tiruvaiyaru on Friday. Hundreds of musicians rendered the Pancharatna kritis of the saint in chorus. The saint attained samadhi on Pushya Bahula Panchami day and the aradhana is held every year on this day.

Prior to the singing of Pancharatna kritis, an unchavritti bhajanai was taken out from the saint's house to the samadhi in the morning. Nagaswara vidwans played some kritis of the saint followed by flute recital. Then the singing in chorus started.

Noted musicians Sudha Ragunathan, Kadri Gopalnath, flautist Ramani, O.S. Arun, Haridwaramangalam A.K. Palanivel, Srimushnam Raja Rao, Amritha Murali and Mahathi were among those participated.

G. Rangaswamy Moopanar, president of the Sri Thyaga Brahma Mahotsava Sabha, took part.

The procession of the saint's idol took place on Friday evening.

The aradhana started on January 9 and concluded on Friday.
