According to NSSO 66th round Employment and Unemployment Survey (2009-10), school attendance rates for girls aged 6-11 years is 89.7 per cent and 6-14 years is 87.7 per cent. Though it is a considerable rise in the number of girls in schools, in some States, the girl dropout rate is high between ages 8-10 years.
