He peeps out of his multi-coloured toy tunnel to look around for the nearest human, purrs into people’s faces and zips from room to room like a tiny black streak. Botsy is a cat-lover’s dream come true, with his mischief and intelligence, and is glad to show you that despite his amputated hind leg, he still has a spring in his step. A few months ago, the feisty kitten was rescued by Shanmuga Sundaram when found with a bad limp and an injury to his ear.

When Devika Khazvini of the Cattitude Trust heard of him through a mutual friend, she decided to foster him until he got the treatment he needed. As the weeks passed, Botsy recovered from his surgery, blossomed into a larger-than-life personality and regained his glossy black coat.

“He mews loudly when it’s time for his food”, laughs Devika who remarks that his mealtime alarm clock is rather precise. Botsy gets along fabulously with other cats as he was raised with another rescue Zimba. Last month, Zimba found a wonderful home and Botsy is now awaiting his turn. Devika reveals that she often hears sounds from the room he’s in, only to discover the kitten playing three-legged football with a cat toy, all by himself.

Says Devika whose own pet Manfrotto is also an amputee – “They’re sweet and vulnerable in their own way, and extra special… but aren’t handicapped when they’re indoors”.

She observes that with an ear that appears like a torn leaf and a pair of sparkling, round green eyes, Botsy is a uniquely handsome cat who would be a blessing to any family that reciprocates the affection that he generously offers.

Botsy is seven months old, vaccinated and neutered. He knows how to use a litter-box and has no special needs except that he wants to be an indoor pet. To adopt him, call 9962097862
