Biggies for Pongal
Quite a few big films are slated for Pongal release. Besides Kamal Haasan’s Viswaroopam to be released on January 11, the other films due for release are Alex Pandian , Adhibagavan , Madha Gaja Raja , Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga . Now two more films are lined up — Bharathiraaja’s Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum , for which post-production work is progressing briskly; and which is ready for a Censor certificate is Kanna Laddu Thinna Asaiya . Produced by Handmade films, it features Santhanam (it is also his first film as a producer), ‘Powerstar’ Srinivasan and Sethu with Vishakha Singh playing the female lead. It is a comedy of sorts, as all the three are chasing a girl whom they are keen to marry.
Suriya in a guest role
Actor Suriya has done a guest role in the film Chennaiyil Oru Naal , a Tamil version of the Malayalam hit Traffic . The story is about a car that is rushing an organ for a transplant surgery but is unable to reach the hospital in time as it gets stuck in a traffic jam. The film features Sarathkumar in the role of commissioner (played by Anoop Menon in Malayalam), Prakashraj (in Rahman's role), Cheran (in Sreenivasan's role), Prasanna (in Kunchacko Boban's role) and Radikaa Sarathkumar (in Lena's role). Remya Nambeesan who played the lead in the Malayalam fit plays the same role in Chennaiyil Oru Naal . Directed by Shaheed Kader, the film is produced by Listin Stephen and Radikaa Sarathkumar.
Wish list
Most actors dream of acting alongside legends such as Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth some time in their career. Trisha who has waited a long while in the wings has at last got a chance to play a role alongside Kamal Haasan in Manmadan Ambu . Now Tamannah too has spoken her wish aloud. “”I’ve always wanted to be paired with Kamal and Rajini in at least one film. If I get a chance, I will be thrilled.”
Six-pack display
After Suriya displaying his six-pack, Vishal followed suit. It’s now Bharath’s chance to do so in one of his films. Director Sasi, who has directed films such as Rojakootam, Dishum and Poo is working with Bharath in the film 555 . He asked Bharath to work-out so he could get into shape for his role. So Bharath is sweating it out for hours together in his gym at home. Director Sasi has also canned some footage of Bharath at his workout and is going to use it in his film.
