Director Sami seems excited that his upcoming film, Kangaroo, has got a U certificate. All of his previous films — Uyir, Mirugam and Sindhu Samaveli — have tackled controversial subjects and consequently been given A certificates by the censors. “My aged mother was responsible for my making the film. She wanted me to make a feel-good film for family audiences. Kangaroo talks about the love and bonding between an older brother and younger sister. There may have been many films highlighting brother-sister love, but my screenplay is unique. With meaningful lyrics by Vairamuthu and the five songs by (singer) Srinivas, I am confident of Kangaroo’s success. I have tried a different genre this time and if it doesn’t click, maybe I will go back to the style of my previous films,” says Sami. Kangaroo , starring Arjuna, Priyanka and Varsha Ashwathi, is expected to release by end-December.

Yennai Arindhaal’s music magic

Music director Harris Jayaraj and director Gautham Vasudev Menon have come together after a gap of six years in producer A. M. Rathnam’s Shri Sai Raam Creations’ Yennai Arindhaal and the music is already repeating the magic of their last collaboration, Vaaranam Aayiram .

There is much buzz about this film, Ajith's 55th, with its YouTube teaser having crossed 3 million views and more than 80,000 likes. These stats are the highest for any South Indian movie teaser so far.
