Happy 50th, A.R. Rahman!

India’s most decorated musician A.R Rahman turns 50 on Friday, half of which he spent as a film music composer.

#HBDARR50 trended on Twitter and celebrities sent in their wishes.

The ‘Mozart of Madras’ himself however had a surprise for his fans, announcing that he will be participating in a Facebook live chat on his birthday.

Rahman announced this, with his tweet, which read, “ Join me on Facebook Live on the 6th of January 2017, between 4.30 pm - 5 pm IST ”.

Rahman began his career with Mani Ratnam’s Roja in 1992. From then to now, he has to his credit two Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award, two Grammy Awards, four National Film Awards, a Golden Globe, 15 Filmfare Awards and 13 Filmfare Awards South to his credit.

Celebrities and friends of Mr. Rahman wished him on Twitter.

 

The maestro's young son, Ameen too wished him on the social media platform.

"Ellapugazum Iraivanukke," tweeted Mr. Rahman, thanking everyone for their wishes.
