Udaya TV celebrates its silver jubilee this year. To mark its celebrations, the channel presents a new serial — Nayaki.

“It will not be your regular daughter-in-law/ mother-in-law fights, or about leading lady pining for the hero, nor, will it be one where the lead woman goes through hardships. It is about a young girl, who has a daring and a persistent personality,” says its director Shashidhar.

Nayaki is about a poor girl Soundarya, who strives to look after her alcoholic father and support her younger brother’s education. She, comes from an affluent family, her parent’s assets have been confiscated by Suryavardhan, who also kills her parents. Soundarya is not aware of this secret and she takes up a job in Suryavardhan’s company and continues to believe that the alcoholic man is her biological father.

What happens when Suryavardhan finds out that Soundarya, the heir to the family’s riches is still alive forms the crux of the story. In a further twist, Soundarya also falls in love with Suryavardhana’s, Siddarth.

The serial stars the renowned actor, Hema Choudhary, who has also acted in many Kannada films, while Kavya (a popular face on Udaya TV) plays the role of Soundarya.

Nayaki , also described as a suspense saga, is made under the banner of Shri Anagha Creations and is directed by Shashidar.

The series premiers on June 17 and will be aired at 7 pm from Monday to Friday on Udaya TV.
