Tom Hardy is putting on the superhero/supervillain mantle, and how! The last time we saw Hardy on the big screen, he was burning his fighter aircraft as German soldiers approached in Dunkirk; and for most of that movie his face was covered. After The Dark Knight Rises and Mad Max: Fury Road , Hardy with his face covered had become quite familiar. In the Venom trailer, however, we get to see him sans any mask, at least till the last, spine-chilling scene!

Hardy plays the role of Marvel's Eddie Brock/Venom, a journalist who serves as the host for an alien symbiote that gives him 'powers'. With slick bike racing sequences and superb acting, Hardy pulls off the role of Venom in the two-minute trailer with aplomb. We see him as a honest journalist struggling to contain the symbiote and when someone asks him "What are you"... along comes the goosebumps-inducing voice.. "We are Venom". And the transformation is complete. Just a reminder: we first saw Venom in Spider-Man 3 , where the character appeared as the anti-hero to Peter Parker.

At a time when Marvel fans all over the world are going ga-ga over the impending release of Avengers: Infinity War , the trailer of Venom stands out with its slick and snazzy portrayal of the anti-hero. The film is directed by Ruben Fleisscher and also stars Michelle williams, Riz Ahmed, Reid Scott and scott Haze. It is slated for an October 2018 release.
