A former banker, stock broker and actor, Sridhar Subramaniam (popular as Sridharan) is a man of many dimensions. Having been mentored by the likes of Y Balu Mahendra and K Balachander in various phases of his acting career, he’s excited to be acting in his first straight Telugu film Nuvvu Thopu Raa . He states, “I have been a child artist, acted in Mahendra sir’s Azhizhatha Kolangal that won big at festivals.” Having acted in many Tamil and Malayalam films, a few directed by Vasudevan Nair, his was inclined towards art-house films until he changed his path with Dhanush’s Raghuvaran B Tech . His claim to fame has been television with serials directed by K Balachander, the popular one being his role in Sahaana , a tele-sequel to the film Sindhu Bhairavi .

“This project ( Nuvvu Thopu Raa ) happened because of Nirosha. I have been selective in the films I chose. The crew made me feel comfortable, though it’s a small character, the story revolves around my part and has an impact.” He’s been an avid fan of films made by K Vishwanath, Vamsy and Jandhyala. Another project that he’s very excited about is Dileeban , based on Srilankan Tamils directed by Anand Raj, a former assistant of director Bala.
