Serendipity festival set to open in December

The third edition of Serendipity Arts Festival 2018 is set to commence in Goa from December 15 to 22, with over 90 projects highlighting country’s rich tradition of music, dance and theatre, alongside culinary arts, craft and visual arts exhibitions.

The multi-disciplinary arts event will take place across 10 venues, transforming the capital city into a vibrant cultural space with multiple exhibitions, performances, said organisers in a press release on Friday.

The SAF is committed to creating tangible changes cultural spectrum by engaging the public and increasing awareness of how art can impact society.

In its previous two editions, the event attracted more than 400,000 visitors and 1300 artists. This year’s programme will include 1500 artists, with special events to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Panaji, said Ms. Smriti Rajgarhia, Director, SAF said.

An initiative of the Serendipity Arts Foundation, founded in 2016 by Sunil Kant Munjal, the festival’s third edition is focused on fostering cultural development, supporting emerging artists across South Asia.

This edition will also include a series of special projects, including The Young Subcontinent curated by Riyas Komu, St+art by Hanif Qureishi, Out of Turn by Asia Art Archive and Meenakshi Thirukode .
