A “horse poll march” was organised in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh town over the weekend to attract voters and motivate them to exercise their franchise during the Lok Sabha election on Monday.
District Electoral Officer Zakir Hussain and senior officers participated in the march. Ghudsawaron ka yeh ahvaan, shat pratishat ho matdan (The call of horse riders, let there be 100% polling) was the main slogan of the march, which was led by a school band. The horses were supplied by the mounted police force of Hanumangarh district for the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Programme (SVEEP).
