Ten Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra which went to polls in the second phase of 2019 general elections registered 62.91% polling on April 18, informed the office of State’s Chief Electoral Officer on Friday. These seats had recorded 62.60% polling in 2014.
As per the data available, the constituency-wise polling was Buldhana 63.68% (61.35%), Akola 60% (58.51%), Amravati (SC) 63.86% (62.29%), Hingoli 66.60% (66.29%), Nanded 65.15% (60.11%), Parbhani 63.19% (64.44%), Beed 66.08%(68.75%), Osmanabad 63.42% (63.65%), Latur (SC) 62.20% (62.69%) and Solapur (SC) 58.45%. (55.88%). The numbers in the bracket indicate poll percentage of 2014.
A total of 1,16,67,506 voters voted while 1,08,590 government officials were deployed at the stations of which 53,80,575 were male, 62,86,879 female and 52 of other gender. In the first phase of general elections, Maharashtra had recorded 61.81% polling.
Second phase of elections in Maharashtra saw 20,716 polling stations. The total number of voters was 1,83,81,784. Out of these polling stations 2129 were monitored by web casting and video shooting was conducted in 1641. A total of 1,08,590 government officials and 25,000 security personnel were deployed.
