The Aam Adami Party (AAP) will not be contesting the Lok Saha election in Maharashtra, the party’s State convener Brig (Retd) Sudhir Sawant announced on Wednesday, citing the need to stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). “They will bury the Constitution and bring in dictatorship. Hence in the national interest, it was consciously felt that the political aim of the 2019 election should be the defeat of fascist forces. It may be recalled that Arvind Kejriwalji had given a call to defeat the Modi-Shah duo in the larger interest of the country,” said Mr. Sawant.
