The police, on Friday, arrested three persons in connection with the seizure of over 9,000 voter identity cards from an apartment in Jalahalli. They are Chinna Tambi, Chinna Dorai and Sharavana.

The FIR, registered on May 9, names 14 people, including MLA of Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency Muniratna.

During the course of their investigation, the police summoned a few voters whose cards had been seized and questioned them.

“We wanted to know how their cards were in the apartment. They claimed to have given the cards to some men who promised them gifts for their votes,” said a senior police officer.

According to the police, Muniratna was named as one of the accused as there were water bottles with his photograph on them in the flat.
