A total of 18,443 people have been booked under various Sections of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Delhi Police Act as preventive measures, election officials said on Wednesday in a statement.

According to the Chief Election Officer, 414 licensed arms have been deposited, 26 unlicensed arms and 1,104 cartridges have been seized as of Tuesday.

As many as 140 First Information Reports have also been lodged against political parties for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Meanwhile, East Delhi District Electoral Officer Kunal said that 15,000 quarters of Indian-made foreign liquor had been seized.

A total of 10 FIRs — seven Excise Act violations, two under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act and one for Arms Act violation — have been registered in East Delhi as of Wednesday. Low-income group voters are being asked not to accept cash from any political parties, while the crackdown on model code of conduct violators runs in parallel.
