In the poll-bound Bihar the Election Commission late on Friday night transferred the state Home Secretary and nine other IAS officers along with seven IPS officers with immediate effect. The State Government, recently, had transferred some of these officers mentioned in the list of the election commission.
In the EC notification to the state chief secretary (434/ 1 / BR-LA / 2015), the State Home Secretary Amir Subhani has been transferred from his post. Mr. Subhani has been the Home Secretary of Bihar for a long time.
The EC has posted senior IAS officer of 1983 batch Sudhir Kumar Rakesh as the new state home secretary. “Mr Subhani may be given any other assignment / post by the state government, as deem fit”, said the EC notification.
The Opposition BJP had earlier demanded from the EC to transfer the Home Secretary from his post as he has been there on the post for a long time.
Besides, nine other IAS officers too have been transferred from one district to another. Both Patna District Magistrate Sanjay Agarawal and Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj who recently were brought in to Patna by the state government, too have been transferred to their previous posting.
Ms. Pratima S K Verma and Vikas Vaibhav against have been posted to Patna as the new District Magistrate and SSP.
The other IAS officers who have been transferred are Kumar Ravi, Devesh Sehera, Bala Murugan D, Kuldip Narayan, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Gopal Meena and M Ramchandrudu. They have been posted as District Magistrates of Darbhanga, Kaimur, Purnea, Madhubani, Katihar, Lakhisarai and Supaul.
The IPS officers who have been transferred are Vikas Vaidhav, Manu Maharaj, Nishant Tiwari, Vikas Burman, Ms Kim, Deepak Burnwal and Ms Garima Malik. Ms Malik has been transferred to Patna as Rural SP whereas Ms Kim has been posted to SP, Supaul. Mr Tiwari has been sent to Purnea from Gaya while Manu Maharaj has been posted to Gaya from Patna.
