Bihar Assembly Elections 2015

BJP has done well in the State: Amit Shah

After an apparently not-so-encouraging trend in the first two phases of the Bihar Assembly poll, the Bharatiya Janata Party is redrawing its strategy to turn the tide in the next three crucial phases.

However, the BJP president Amit Shah affirmed on Monday that the party had done well. “We will get 32-34 seats in the first phase and 22-24 seats in the second.” In all, 81 seats went to the poll in the first phase on October 12 and the second on October 16.

Mr. Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s poll rallies had been delayed because of the big gap between the second and the third phase of poll and the Dussehra festival in between. The third phase is on October 28. “The Prime Minister will address 20-22 election rallies. Neither the places, nor the rallies have been changed.”

Mr. Shah said development had always been the poll issue for the BJP. But the grand alliance leaders had brought in caste, reservation and cow slaughter.
