The JSP has decided to give three Lok Sabha (Bapatla, Chittoor and Tirupati) and 21 Assembly seats (not specified) to the BSP in furtherance of their alliance for the general elections.

Addressing the media after conclusion of his negotiations with BSP MP Veer Singh here on Sunday, JSP president Pawan Kalyan said he was happy to work with BSP president Mayawati, whom he had met in Lucknow a couple of days ago.

In this context, Mr. Pawan Kalyan recalled that there was an offer to make him president of the BSP in Andhra Pradesh, which he had turned down due to political compulsions.

Stating that he was keen on taking the alliance with the BSP, and the CPI and the CPI (M) forward, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said he wished Ms. Mayawati become the Prime Minister.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan further said he had fruitful discussions with Ms. Mayawati on not only contesting together in the elections in A.P. and Telangana but also the kind of development schemes required to alleviate the plight of the masses in the country.

Mr. Veer Singh said a leader like Mr. Pawan Kalyan was required to be at the helm of affairs in A.P., and appreciated the fact he was influenced by the ideology of Kanshi Ram. He expressed the confidence that the JSP-BSP alliance would usher in a change for which Mr. Pawan Kalyan had been striving.

Ms. Mayawati would address public meetings at Amalapuram, Tirupati and Hyderabad on April 3 and 4.

JSP leaders Nadendla Manohar and M. Gangadharam, and BSP’s R.J. Mallik and Chittibabu were present.

For the Left parties

Meanwhile, according to a JSP release, the CPI (M) will be contesting from two Lok Sabha (Kurnool and Nellore) and seven Assembly constituencies (Kurupam, Araku, Rampachodavaram, Undi, Vijayawada Central, Santanutalapadu and Kurnool) and the CPI from two LS (Anantapur and Kadapa) and seven Assembly constituencies (Palakonda, S. Kota, Visakhapatnam West, Nuzvid, Mangalagiri, Kanigiri and Dhone).
