‘AP people unhappy with Chandrababu Naidu’

TS Minister says Andhra CM is ‘not a fair man’

Not just the TRS leaders, but even Telugu people wish to see the defeat of N. Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the elections, said Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Sunday.

Addressing mediapersons at a ‘Meet the Press’ event here, Mr. Dayakar Rao said the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister committed a blunder by joining hands with arch rivals Congress in a bid to defeat TRS in the Telangana Assembly elections last December. “It is not just my personal opinion; several Ministers and MLAs of Andhra Pradesh have told me that people of AP are happy with Mr KCR (Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao), and not with Mr. Naidu,” he added.

It was wrong on Mr. Naidu’s part to comment earlier that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao had “worked under him”, said the Minister, adding, “Mr. KCR and I were in TDP since 1983 with N.T. Rama Rao while Mr. Naidu was with the Congress. We had all told Mr NTR not admit him into TDP as he had rebuked our party. But everyone is aware of the history.”

Mr. Dayakar Rao said he would not label Mr. Naidu a villain; instead, he would call him “not a fair man”. “Even in Telangana TDP committee, Mr. Naidu did not allow anyone to function with freedom,” he alleged.
