I had completed B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, from Techno India Salt Lake, Kolkata in 2017. After graduation, I felt it was the right time to use the knowledge acquired from my bachelor’s into something where I could apply it to solve real-world business problems. Hence, I opted for MSc Business Analysis and Consulting course in Strathclyde Business School.
This course has a perfect blend of qualitative and quantitative elements along with a chance to apply the learnings in the real-world business case studies, which make it unique. Strathclyde is a highly reputed university. I read about the excellent alumni achievements and the university’s collaboration with the industry and was inspired to be a part of this learning environment.
New opportunities
The MSc BAC course has an opportunity of a three-week placement in an external company which is very lucrative. This placement is a brilliant way of helping the students apply what they have learnt in their first semester and help them get an idea about the work life of a business analyst. As a part of this, I worked in Rolls-Royce for three weeks.
It was one of the best experiences of my life. It helped me to understand how things work in an office environment, how to improve my professional behaviour, enhance my communication skills and learn new things from my supervisors.
Studying here has helped me gain invaluable experiences such as getting the opportunity to interact with some of the top management officials of renowned companies, which will be useful in the future. The constant support and guidance from the faculty makes my experience even better. The course has both individual as well as group-based assignments, equipping us to work in varied environments and situations. Working in groups has sharpened my interpersonal and teamwork skills. I get to meet students from different countries with various educational backgrounds and professional experience and learn a lot from them.
Scotland is a beautiful place. and Glasgow has a perfect city life and the numerous Indian food joints make me love Glasgow even more. The people here are friendly and welcoming which never lets me miss home. This one year has been a very rewarding experience for me, enriching me and leading me to grow as an individual.
