Clue explained:

: homophone, deletion, anagram, cryptic definition Clue types

: one that never looks older Definition

We’re looking for a 7-letter word that is synonymous with ‘one that never looks older’.

‘Designed’ is an anagram indicator — an anagram of ‘eyeglass’ is YAGELESS.

‘I say’ is a homophone indicator telling us that the word ‘why’ is supposed to be sounded out and respelled as Y.

‘No’ is a deletion indicator telling us to delete the Y from YAGELESS.
