In the Premier League, Burnley manager Sean Dyche celebrated completing five years in charge of the club with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle thanks to a goal from Jeff Hendrick.

Deportivo La Coruna, under reserve team coach Cristobal Parralo, registered a 3-1 victory against Las Palmas in the La Liga.
