Ravi Uppal, Whole-time Director and head of the power business of Larsen and Toubro (L&T), has put in his papers.

“Mr. Ravi Uppal, Whole-time Director & President (Power) of the company, has resigned as director of the company. The resignation will be effective from September 15,” L&T said on Tuesday.

It is believed that Mr. Uppal would join Vedanta Group’s Cairn India to replace to Rahul Dhir.

Soon after the news of his resignation, the L&T stock came under selling pressure, and the scrip closed with a loss of 2.53 per cent at Rs.1,362.20.

Before joining L&T, Mr. Uppal was with ABB Group for over 22 years.
