February 09, 2017 10:17 pm | Updated 10:17 pm IST - MUMBAI:

Italian two-wheeler brand Piaggio is planning to ramp up its distribution network in India in 2017 to increasesales, said its managing director Stefano Pelle. “We are very small in terms of distribution in India,” Mr.Pelle said during the unveiling of its second crossover scooter Aprilia SR150 RACE. By end October, the two-wheeler maker plans to increase its distribution network by 50%. “This (increasing dealer network) has to happen during the coming months. We have the ambition of doubling the network vis-a-vis last year. Last year we started at 70 plus (dealers), we finished the year at around 100. Now we are going upto 150-160 over the next six months, say end of Q3 of the calendar year,” he said.
