Shanthi Gears Ltd. (SGL) has reported 26% increase in its standalone net profit for the second quarter ended September 2018 at ₹9 crore against ₹7.16 crore for the corresponding year-ago period. The revenue from operations increased by 9% to ₹59.41 crore from ₹54.31 crore. During the quarter, the firms secured orders for ₹73.7 crore (against ₹56.4 crore). Pending orderbook as on September 30, 2018 was ₹149 crore against ₹121 crore.Wendt India
Wendt India Ltd., another Murugappa Group firm, posted 60% increase in its standalone net profit at ₹4.46 crore against ₹2.79 crore in the year earlier on account of higher volumes, operational efficiencies and product mix.
On a standalone basis, the company achieved gross sales of ₹35.13 crore against ₹32.70 crore, which was higher by 7% compared to the corresponding year-ago period. During the period under review, the domestic sales were higher by 6% and exports by 11% respectively. The major industry segments, which attributed to the growth of the domestic business were auto, auto ancillaries, steel and bearings.
