With the mercury starting to soar across the country, summers are officially around the corner and so are summer body goals. Call it karma or whatever you want, but all the pampering you treated yourself to with the Diwali delicacies and Christmas cakes is going to take some serious hard-work to get rid of. But all of this is easier said than done and diet commitments are fraught with more temptation than perhaps anything else in the world ever is. Precisely why you need these 5 delicious indulgences that take care of your cravings while fitting right into your diet plan!

1. Baked Potatoes

Potatoes are perhaps mankind’s greatest love and they generally come in the most scrumptious but sinful forms that certainly don’t look good on a diet plan. Thankfully that’s not the case with baked potatoes. Baked potatoes are quite healthy in fact and are a great way to satiate your tater cravings while losing weight. Besides, with just a little bit of sour cream or a healthy dip, you can dial up the taste by notches. How about that for a delicious diet fix!

2. Dark Chocolate

As far from reality as this sounds, chocolate can go a long way in helping you drop those kilos; provided it is minimally processed dark chocolate with at least 65% cocoa. The high cocoa content in dark chocolate increases serotonin and endorphins which reduce stress and avoid stress eating cravings. Besides the flavanols in dark chocolate also regulate blood sugar and keep body fat in check. Be careful not to over indulge though!

3. Oats Idlis

When it comes to oats, the possibilities are unlimited. From rolled oat pancakes and oat idlis to oat granolas and smoothies, oats fit right in for just about any food craving. Oat idlis are an excellent replacement for regular idlis as a breakfast staple and taste equally delicious as any other idlis out there and allow you to cut down on the carbs by over 30%.

4. Peanut Butter Banana Cups

While it’s essential to watch how much of it you eat, there’s no harm in indulging in dessert when you’re looking to pull down the winter weight you just piled up. And peanut butter banana cups are the trend du jour when it comes to healthy dessert indulgences. Easy to make and with ingredients that do no harm to your diet, peanut butter banana cups are surely going to become your best friends while you’re on a diet.

5. Fruit Sorbets

Nothing beats a fruity sorbet on a hot summer day and the best part is that you don’t have to rush to the weighing scale immediately afterwards. While sorbets do have room for some creativity in terms of flavours, they’re basically just fruit pulps in a frozen form. Fit for just about whenever a sweet craving hits you!
