Karman loses to top seed

Top seed Luksika Kumkhum defeated Karman Kaur Thandi 7-6(1), 6-3 in the semifinals of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament here on Friday.

In the Futures event, Vijay Sundar Prashanth made the singles final beating Pruchya Isaro 6-1, 6-7(4), 6-3.

At an ITF tournament in Leipzig, Ankita Raina lost 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to third seed Valentyna Ivakhnenko.

The results: $25,000 ITF women, Nonthaburi: Semifinals: Luksika Kumkhum (Tha) bt Karman Kaur Thandi 7-6(1), 6-3.

Doubles quarterfinals: Akiko Omae (Jpn) & Peangtarn Plipuech (Tha) bt Patcharin Cheapchandej (Tha) & Karman Kaur Thandi 6-2, 4-6, [10-6].

$15,000 Futures: Semifinals: Vijay Sundar Prashanth bt Pruchya Isaro (Tha) 6-1, 6-7(4), 6-3.
