Radiant SoftPro I scripted a 15-12, 15-13 win over CTS II in the final of The Hindu-Radisson Blu inter-corporate beach volleyball tournament, here on Sunday.

Radiant SoftPro I, represented by Manikandan (captain and attacker), Jimson (all-rounder), Surendar (attacker), Santhakumar (setter), and Karthik (substitute-blocker), began the contest in dominant fashion.

The team barely gave its opponent a sniff and closed out the first set in quick time. CTS II fought valiantly in the second set, not providing the rival any easy opportunities. However, Radiant SoftPro I held its nerve to the settle the issue.

Trips to Bangkok

The winner and first runner-up were rewarded with round trips to Bangkok besides cash prizes of Rs. 40,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively. CTS I, which finished second runner-up, received Rs.15,000 as cash prize for its effort.

Sudarsan of Cash Edge Fiserv and Rehman of CTS I were awarded Rs.10,000 each after being adjudged the best attacker and best all-rounder respectively.

Suresh Srinivasan, Vice-President (Advertising), The Hindu, presented the winner's trophy in the presence of Hareesh Koroth, Indian basketball player, S. Marshal Mary, a member of the Indian kabaddi team that clinched the gold medal in the Asian Beach Games, Rajkumar, Manager-Marketing (India & Sri Lanka), Air Asia, Jayanti, Head (Marketing), Vijay Shanthi Builders, Shabin Sarvotham, Resort Manager, Radisson BLU Resort Temple Bay, Mamallapuram, K. Ravichandran, DGM (Events), The Hindu, and A.J. Martin Sudhakar, General Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Volleyball Association, and Chairman, Beach Council, VFI.
