N. Vidya of AKG Club warded off a spirited challenge from Swetha Kumaravel of Indian Bank 8-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-5, 9-11, 5-11, 11-8 to clinch her second successive women's title in the SDAT-AKG second State-ranking table tennis tournament at the Hall of TT, Nehru Stadium, here on Sunday.
Sivananda Seshadri of Food Corporation of India had no trouble in disposing of R.S. Raja (Raman Institute of TT) 11-6, 11-2, 11-8, 15-13 in the men's final. Raja put it across G. Vinod, winner of the first State-ranking tournament, in the quarterfinals and the top seed G. Sathiyan (ONGC) in the semifinals.
