Tamil Nadu won two silver and three bronze medals in the sub-junior & inter-State challenger sprint National rowing championships at the Sri Ramachandra University on Saturday.
The competition featured around 170 races across 17 categories, including races under floodlights for the first time in Asia.
It was announced that four rowers — Deepika Xess (Odisha), G. Geetanjali (Telangana), Varsha (Kerala), and Maheshwar Singh (Haryana) — have been selected for the university-funded performance-enhancing BAT Logic scientific assessment at the SRASSC Water Sports Center.
P. Benjamin, Minister for Sports & Youth welfare, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, was the chief guest. Rowing Federation of India’s vice-president C.P. Singh Deo was the guest of honour.
