Germany’s Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt clinched the overall luge World Cup doubles championship Saturday, posting their sixth win in eight races on the circuit this season.

It’s the third time in the last four seasons that Wendl and Arlt won the overall title, ensuring they’ll head to the Sochi Olympics as favorites for gold.

Wendl and Arlt finished two runs at Altenberg in 1 minute, 23.789 seconds, finishing 0.219 seconds better than Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken of Germany. The Austrian team of Peter Penz and Georg Fischler was third, 0.332 seconds back of the winners.

Christian Niccum and Jayson Terdiman were 11th for the U.S., five spots ahead of fellow Americans Matthew Mortensen and Preston Griffall.
