Fresh IOA schedule on Wednesday

November 20, 2012 11:54 pm | Updated 11:54 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Despite the appointment of a new chairman in Justice Anil Dev Singh (retd.) to conduct the elections to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), there was no clarity on Tuesday about when the process would be resumed.

The three-member election panel, though it met on Tuesday, is expected to announce a fresh schedule for the elections only on Wednesday.

The election process was stalled following the resignation of Mr. S. Y. Quraishi as the chairman of the panel last Saturday.

Meanwhile, one of the candidates for the post of treasurer, in the elections, Hari Om Kaushik of the Netball Federation of India, has written to the Returning Officer to publish/display the list of nominations received by him till the last date of nominations, November 16. Mr. Kaushik stated in his letter that as per the model guidelines contained in the National Sports Code and issued by the Returning Officer, the list of nominations had to be published on the last date for nominations.
