Vijay Merchant Trophy: Hyderabad in trouble

Hyderabad was struggling at 161 for seven in reply to Karnataka’s first innings total of 264 at close on the second day of the Vijay Merchant Trophy South Zone under-16 tournament league match here on Thursday.

Tamil Nadu was also in a spot of bother having lost its top four batsmen for 103 in reply to Kerala’s 247.

Meanwhile, Andhra declared its innings at 403 for nine against Goa, which was on 198 for four.

Karnataka 264 in 114.1overs (Mohit S. Pimplapure 69, Mashooq Hussain 52, B.R. Sharath 33, Rishi Boppanna 32, Desmond Antony 30, A. Jayasurya four for 44, E. Sree Charan three for 36) vs. Hyderabad 161 for seven in 65 overs (D. Rahul 48, Raj Takhur 32, Likhit Bannur three for 49).
