N. Srinivasan is widely expected to be re-elected unopposed in the TNCA annual elections to be held on June 12.

June 06, 2015 03:13 am | Updated 07:14 am IST - Chennai:

With the last date for withdrawal of nominations in the TNCA annual elections — to be held on June 12 — ending on Friday, there will be no contests for the posts of the secretary, joint secretary, assistant secretary and treasurer. The incumbents will continue.

Although the president can be challenged on the floor of the house, N. Srinivasan is widely expected to be re-elected unopposed. The only change among the vice-presidents, will be Albert Muralidharan (Districts) coming in for R. Kanakaraj.

In the executive committee (City), Keshav Sriram and C.G. Anandram will be replaced by P. Jayagopal and Yunus Laila. These changes were agreed upon before the elections and there will be no contests.

Since the five districts in the executive committee follow a rotation policy every year, Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Tiruvallur, Theni and Vellore will be the new entrants in the panel. The TNCA will organise its annual day on June 11.
