Ranji final at Wankhede

January 21, 2013 11:54 pm | Updated 11:54 pm IST - Mumbai

Mumbai will play Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy final at the Wankhede Stadium from January 26 to 30. The match will be telecast live.

The match officials are: K. Hariharan and O. Nandan (on-field umpires), Virender Sharma (third umpire) and Col. Chinmaya Sharma (Match Referee).

With the Ranji final to be played at the Wankhede stadium, all nine ICC Women’s World Cup matches (two warm-up games and seven tournament matches) have been withdrawn from the venue.

This is because should Mumbai win the Ranji final, it will have the right to choose the venue (Wankhede) for the Irani Cup match to be played from February 6 to 10.

The additional World Cup matches will be played at the Cricket Club of India and the Bandra-Kurla Complex Recreation ground.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) jt. hon. secretary Nitin Dalal said the association had requested the BCCI to release Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma for the final in the event of India winning the one-day series at Mohali. He also said Zaheer Khan had not recovered from a calf-strain and hence would not be available for the final.
