Five-star hotels usually have lavish menus for their guests but the one, which will host the Indian cricket team here will serve plain ‘khichdi’ to the side’s biggest star Sachin Tendulkar as the champion batsman is fond of the traditional Indian dish.
The city will host the second Test between India and Sri Lanka from November 24 and the hotel staff said they have got special instructions to prepare ‘khichdi’ for Tendulkar while other members of the team will choose from a sumptuous range of other Indian dishes.
An official said the hotel got directions regarding the food menu from the BCCI. Both the teams will arrive here on Saturday. The hotel has also prepared a special cake for Tendulkar to celebrate his 20 years in international cricket.
