The 2014 Indian Premier League final will be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, on June 1.
The IPL Governing Council (GC) arrived at the decision after a meeting on Saturday, putting an end to the furore over the switch in venue.
BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said: “The GC looked at all aspects of the issue.
“Time becomes critical when organising a final. MCA informed that they will arrange for police permission for loudspeaker and fireworks beyond the time limit but nothing came in writing.”
He added: “Bangalore had the required documents, so instead of more delays and waiting for things to happen, the GC decided to go ahead with the final at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.”
As per the earlier schedule, the title clash was to be held in Mumbai. MI hosted the home matches in IPL-7 at the Wankhede Stadium, so the MCA had protested at the change in venue. — Special Correspondent
