India may have failed to qualify for the semifinals of the ongoing ICC World Twenty20, but four wins out of five matches have pushed the M.S. Dhoni-led side up by one place to the second spot in the latest T20 International team rankings, released on Wednesday.
India now trails Sri Lanka (129) by nine points and is followed by Pakistan (118) and England (118).
South Africa has lost its No. 1 position in the championship table after failing to qualify for the semifinals.
Virat Kohli’s good run catapulted him to the 10th position with a jump of nine places.
Among bowlers, Harbhajan Singh dropped out of the top-20 as he slipped to 23rd with a loss of six places.
R. Ashwin zoomed to 25th spot after gaining 17 places.
Australia’s Shane Watson continued to make an upward movement up one place to second in the T20 batsmen’s rankings.
He is also the leading wicket-taker in the event with 11 wickets and this effort has helped him move up a place to sixth in the bowlers’ rankings.
A combined effort with the bat and ball ensures that he remains the No. 1 ranked all-rounder in the world in this format.
New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum has retained his No. 1 batting spot, but Chris Gayle has slipped down a place to third, while Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene has moved up three places to fourth.
Tillakaratne Dilshan and Eoin Morgan have moved up to share seventh position. There is no change in the top three positions in the T20I rankings for bowlers headed by Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal, with England off-spinner Graeme Swann second and Sri Lanka’s Ajantha Mendis third.

Vicky relies on luck!. What about our stalwarts? Of course they have played IPL months together. Even though India could not reach semi finals why? In IPL there were celebrities and money! Money, Wine publicity and Women were there than cricket. But what happened? IPL failed to give required experience and proved that it is played with an intention to grab money! Sri Lankan pitches were the heaven of spinners. We have world class spinners. Even though, with lot of over confidence, Indian Captain MS Dhoni could not achieve much. Alongwith Pakistan and Sri Lanka, India should have entered semi final. Because of improper handling of Bowlers, Dhoni utterrly failed! After ICC world T20 tournament, Dhoni proved that his days are over!
there is no doubt india can win 4 match out of 5.
But still india can convert the lazy match into intresting matches.
total entertainer team be called us.
Hope ,next time luck in favour of india.
