The Cricket Association of Bengal has announced a befitting prelude to Indian cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar’s final bow.
Tendulkar plays his penultimate Test at the Eden Gardens here, on November 6 before his swan song at his home city Mumbai.
The little master’s larger-than-life cut-outs have been put up all around the Eden Gardens Club House. Tableaux depicting Tendulkar in different stances would make the rounds of the city.
And, to honour Tendulkar’s choice of playing his penultimate Test at the Eden Gardens, CAB plans to shower 199kg of rose petals from special aircraft when he walks out to bat.
CAB also plans a dinner for the little master with invitees like the legendary Vivian Richards and Shane Warne, according to CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly.
The local association will also distribute a special 45-page collector’s edition on Tendulkar to all spectators.
Tendulkar will also be given a State felicitation by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after the conclusion of the Test.
