Ganesh Satish hits ton; Bawne and Suresh Kumar flay CromBest

Ganesh Satish scored 106 (179b, 10x4, 2x6) as Young Stars got to 224 in its first innings, a 115-run lead over Alwarpet, on day two of the fourth round Group-A match in the TNCA first division league. Alwarpet was on 115 for one in its second innings, with Kamalesh unbeaten on 59 (113b, 6x4), at close.

At MAC, Grand Slam reached 111 for four in response to IOB’s 298. Mohammad Younus picked up all four wickets for the bankmen.

In the Group-B clash at IIT-Chemplast, Ankit Bawne top-scored with 149 (246b, 11x4, 2x6) as Jolly Rovers declared on 432 for seven. In reply, CromBest reached 164 for eight, courtesy Ankur Julka’s 91 (121b, 13x4, 1x6). Bawne added 201 for the fourth wicket with S. Suresh Kumar (106, 136b, 10x4, 1x6).

At MRF-Pachaiyappa’s, Globe Trotters posted 361 in its first innings as R. Lakshmi Narayanan of AG’s Office finished with figures of six for 122. In reply, AG’s folded up for 112 — Francis Rokins was out injured — and followed on to end the day at 91 for six. It was impeded by Ashwath Mukundan (four for 29) in the first innings, and M.S. Washington Sundar (four for 29) in the second.

Group-B:At IIT-Chemplast: Jolly Rovers 432 for seven decl. in 118 overs (Ankit Bawne 149, S. Suresh Kumar 106, M. Shahrukh Khan 83, M. Kaushik Gandhi 54) vs CromBest 164 for eight in 60 overs (Ankur Julka 91).

At MRF-Pachaiyappa’s: Globe Trotters 361 in 100.1 overs (M.S. Washington Sundar 90, Sheldon Jackson 42, U. Sushil 69, K. Shri Vasudevadas 41, R.
