Cook hopes Anderson will play ‘home’ Test

With the International Cricket Council’s judicial commissioner Gordon Lewis AM set to hear the cases and appeals with regard to James Anderson and Ravindra Jadeja here on Friday through a video conference, Thursday’s post-match press conferences briefly touched upon the topic.

Dhoni was asked about India being in possession of incriminating video evidence about Anderson’s alleged push against Jadeja during the first Test at Trent Bridge. “No, I am not aware,” the India captain said.

Later, sitting next to his skipper Alastair Cook, Anderson emphasised that he was entirely focused on the game.

Cook hoped that Anderson, who is facing a ‘Level 3 ICC code of conduct violation’ accusation by India, would be able to play at his home ground, Old Trafford.

“We are not allowed to comment, but I just hope common sense prevails. Hopefully we’ll see Jimmy in his home Test,” Cook said.
