Opening batsman Virender Sehwag (251 matches, 8273 runs) and spinners Harbhajan Singh (right hand off spinner, 229 matches 259 wkts) and Pragyan Ojha (left arm, 18 matches, 21 wkts) do not figure in the list of 30 probables announced for the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in England from June 6 to 23.

Sehwag played his last ODI against Pakistan in Kolkata on January, but none of the three played in the five-match ODI series against England last January. The 15-member squad will be selected by May 6.

Cheteshwar Pujara who was in the squad for the last two ODIS (Mohali and Dharamshala) against England too has not gained favour from the national selection committee. Another important name missing in the list of probables is left arm seamer Zaheer Khan.

The five-member selection committee consisting of Sandeep Patil (Chairman), Roger Binny, Saba Karim, Rajinder Singh Hans and Vikram Rathour have chosen a variety of pace bowlers in Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Irfan Pathan, Vinay Kumar, Praveen Kumar, Ishwar Pandey and Sidharth Kaul. There are three off-spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin, Jalaj Saxena and Parvez Rasool, a left arm finer spinner in Ravindra Jadeja and a wrist spinner in Amit Mishra.
